Welcoming Fresh Talent to Cambridge Kinetics

This summer, we have had the pleasure of working with Ben Salkield and James Leung, students in their 1st Year studying Computer Science at the University of York, and the University of Cambridge respectively.

Ben joined us in June to assist with a range of projects focused on our website. From designing new pages to implementing fresh content, Ben ensured that everything aligned with our branding and front-end standards.

“This summer, diving deep into front-end web development at Cambridge Kinetics was an invaluable experience. It allowed me to apply my skills in a real-world setting, contributing to a dynamic team that is both innovative and supportive. I’m grateful for the opportunity to enhance the company’s online presence, and I’m excited to take these experiences forward into my future projects.”.

James came on board in the middle of July, staying with us for two months. He quickly got to grips with the Kinabase codebase and began implementing an array of features; such as generating a database structure from an image or a spreadsheet, extracting data from an image, and generating key performance indicators and charts from data. He has also helped brainstorm new user interfaces to improve the readability and accessibility.

“It was extremely rewarding to see my features being used by clients and to know that my work has had a real impact on our customers.

I am immensely grateful for the friendly and welcoming environment that they cultivate here at Cambridge Kinetics, and for the opportunity to gain crucial experience working closely with the rest of the development team. The shared drive and passion for creating the best possible product has had a strong impression on me and I hope to replicate this dedication and work ethic in my future endeavors.”

We wish Ben and James all the best as they complete their degrees and embark on future projects! We are grateful for their hard work and dedication this summer, and we look forward to seeing their future successes.
