Open your SharePoint files directly in your Desktop apps

We know how important the integration of Kinabase and SharePoint is for successful document sharing and team collaboration. Enabling Kinabase to handle your file and folder structure for you, means you always know where important documents are.

To make it easier for users to access and collaborate SharePoint files, we have augmented the files field in records. Now, when you click on a file, you have the option to open the file on your Microsoft desktop apps, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. In addition to saving clicks, viewing files on the native desktop app increases the number of shortcuts available to users that aren't be available on the stripped-down web version.

To integrate your Kinabase with your company’s SharePoint please read this support article.

Once the integration has been set up, you can access SharePoint by clicking the three dots (or right click) on the file you want to open in the desktop app. By clicking on “Open,” you’ll see the option to either open in browser or on desktop app.

We hope you enjoy this new Kinabase feature – let us know if you have any questions!
