Keep sensitive data on a need-to-know basis

Kinabase now allows you to set visibility permissions for your collections, meaning only the relevant and authorised personnel can view them, boosting your security and safeguarding your data.

Maintaining the security and integrity of your and your clients’ data is vital for the smooth and successful operation of your business. Breaches in security can lead to a loss of revenue, but even more damaging, a loss of trust in your business. This can damage existing relationships and prevent new ones from flourishing.

A core tenet of security is access - and Kinabase’s new visibility feature allows you to control which collections are visible to whom. Collections that are not relevant to certain teams, for example sensitive Legal Agreements, can be hidden from their view, preventing both confusion and the dissemination of sensitive data beyond its required boundaries.

How to control the visibility of your collections:

• Select your desired collection: that you want to limit visibility.
• Enter collection Configuration: using the three dots in the top right side of your screen.
• Select the Permissions tab: Click 'Permissions' on the left of the screen.
• Choose who has Visibility: Scroll down until you see 'Visibility', unselect ‘everyone’ and then tick the roles you would like this collection to be visible to.
• Finalise your choice: click ‘Update’ to confirm your changes – this collection now has limited visibility.
